NEXO

Where does the extra centavo go when a split isn't even?

When an amount can't be split exactly, NEXO splits it as evenly as possible down to the centavo. Any leftover centavo goes to someone who didn't pay, never to the person who paid.

Example: Alex pays ₱100.01 for dinner and splits it equally with Sam. Alex's share is ₱50.00 and Sam's share is ₱50.01, so Sam owes Alex ₱50.01.

With three or more people, each leftover centavo goes to a different person who didn't pay, starting with whoever joined the space first. It works the same way every time and on every phone, and the shares always add up exactly to the total.

This only applies to Equal splits. With Unequal, everyone's share is exactly what you typed.
